1.Gottfried Lindauer was born in Pilsen, Czech Republic in 1839. and died in 1926, Woodville. later a New Zealand artist famous for his portraits including that of the Māori.
I first saw his work at Auckland Art Gallery. When I arrived in New Zealand almost do not know what is Maori and Maori culture. In the Auckland Art Gallery I first saw a group of about Maori portraits. Which impresses is the piece of Maori girls. Kind eyes and a noble woman who feels beautiful. Long hair and the body of the Maori accessories. At that time I really think this picture with Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa is very similar. This is perhaps the Maori's Mona Lisa.
2.painting "AFTER"
The painting after means: Painting in the style of original or similar to the artist they are looking at.
3.
Because I really like these two paintings, their authors are New Zealand painter.
John Walsh earlier works having been exhibited mainly around his home territory
of Gisborne and the East Coast region of New Zealand. The protagonists in
Walsh’s paintings are often depicted with human bodies and faces .
His work is typified by a gentle humour, and a playful interpretation of circumstances.
Although I can not fully understand his work. Can not understand why he painted this picture.
But I still really like it. Because I like his color. Most of his with a very calm colors.
Giving a secluded feeling. But I did not in my after painting to do anything to change.
Because I did not understand the meaning of painting after. I just tried to imitate his original.
But I still really like this picture.
If I have time later I will use my own ideas and then draw one.
